STA Swimming Teacher
A comprehensive Level 2 qualification that replaces STA's previous Award and Certificate structure.
The STA Swimming Teacher qualification is the industry-recognised route to becoming a fully qualified swimming teacher. This comprehensive Level 2 course brings together everything from the previous Award and Certificate structure into one complete programme.
You'll learn alongside experienced teachers in a working swim school — the same pool where Brighton Swimming School teaches over 750 swimmers a week — so the practical experience is real, not simulated.
Swim UK is an approved STA training centre, which means your qualification is nationally recognised and built to the highest industry standards.

- Survival and rescue techniques
- Water safety education for all age groups
- Planning, delivering and evaluating progressive lessons
- Inclusive teaching and adapting for different abilities, facilities and needs
- Communication skills, teamwork and other work-ready skills
- Safe, professional poolside practice
- How to teach safe, fun, progressive and inclusive lessons to adult and child learn to swim participants
