How we protect children, young people and vulnerable adults at Brighton Swimming Centre.

Our commitment

Brighton Swimming Centre is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults who use our services. We follow Swim England safeguarding guidance and applicable UK safeguarding law.

Our practice

  • All staff are DBS checked before working at the centre
  • All staff receive safeguarding training as part of induction and refresher training
  • We have a designated safeguarding lead and a deputy
  • Concerns are recorded, investigated and acted upon in line with statutory guidance
  • We work with local safeguarding partners where required

For parents and carers

  • Children under 8 must be accompanied to the centre by a parent or carer who stays for the duration of the lesson
  • Children 8 and over change in their own gender-specific changing room
  • Photography and filming is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises
  • Any concern, however small, should be raised with the poolside supervisor or the office on 01273 434400

If you have a safeguarding concern, please speak to:

  • The poolside supervisor at your session, or
  • The office on 01273 434400, or
  • Email admin@brightonswimmingschool.com marked for the attention of the Designated Safeguarding Lead
